Bachelor of Engineering Technology Major in Mechatronics

Graduates of the BET – MECHA program are expected to have accomplished the following within 5 years after graduation:

  1. Apply fundamental technical knowledge and skills to find workable solutions to technological challenges and problems in the core and allied areas of mechatronics
  2. Design and develop engineering system components with a sense of ethics and professionalism for the benefit of the industrial world and the society
  3. Enhance their professional career competencies through continual learning and take-up challenging tasks in the organization

Program Outcomes

A BET-MECHA graduate should be able to:

  1. Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics and science to solve mechatronics problem
  2. Design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
  3. Design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability, in accordance with standards
  4. Ability to function on multidisciplinary teams;
  5. Ability to identify, formulate, and solve mechatronic problems;
  6. Ability to apply professional and ethical responsibility;
  7. Ability to communicate effectively;
  8. Acquire the broad education necessary to understand the impact of mechatronics solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
  9. Ability to recognize the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning;
  10. Ability to apply knowledge of contemporary issues;
  11. Ability to use techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice;
  12. Know and understand mechatronics and management principles as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments
