Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Sanitary Engineering

Graduates of the BSESE program are expected to have accomplished the following within 5 years after graduation:

  1. Conducted research and experiments in the field of Sanitary Engineering and related fields;
  2. Designed a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints, in accordance with standards;
  3. Participated in complex sanitary engineering activities in the community and with society at large
  4. Been a member and leader of a team that manage projects in a multidisciplinary environment

Program Outcomes

A Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Sanitary Engineering graduate should be able to:

  1. apply knowledge of mathematics and science to solve complex environmental and sanitary engineering problems
  2. design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
  3. design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability, in accordance with standards
  4. function on multidisciplinary teams
  5. identify, formulate, and solve complex environmental and sanitary engineering problems
  6. understand professional and ethical responsibility
  7. communicate effectively complex environmental and sanitary engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large;
  8. understand the impact of environmental and sanitary engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
  9. recognize the need for, and engage in life-long learning
  10. know contemporary issues
  11. use techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for environmental and sanitary engineering practice
  12. Know and understand engineering and management principles as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments
