Electronics Engineering 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨’ 𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩 2023 with UB thrills delegates

The Electronics Engineering Students' Summit 2023 hosted by the IECEP (Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines) NATIONAL had a diverse range of competitions, spanning across three categories: Non-Academic, Academic, and Socials. These competitions were designed to foster healthy competition, encourage skills development, and provide a platform for showcasing talents.

IECEP (Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines) National ESAC (Education and Students’ Affairs Committee) conducted its annual Electronics Engineering National Students’ Summit 2023 (competition) with the theme: Empowering Future Innovators: Building Bridges to Success. This was held in person at Marikina Convention Center from October 23-28, 2023. The event brought together students from different Universities offering the program Electronics Engineering to showcase their intelligence and talents in the Non-Academic Competitions, Social Competitions and Academic Competitions.

From the School of Engineering and Architecture, Dunhill C. Gaviran won the 1st Runner Up in “Pixel Perfect: Digital Arts Competition” under the non-academic competition category.

For the social competitions, Searl Lawrence A. Cabingas and Lyndel Andrae M. Riña got the 2nd Runner Up in “Euphony: Acoustic Duet Singing Contest” while Johanna Jheane V. Jacinto, Rachel Mae Martinez, Trixie Joy Viloria, Jeian Tanya R. Yarcia, and Jeremy Magmoyao from University of Baguio landed as 2nd Runner Up in “Step Up: Folk Modern Fusion Group Dance Competition.” The team was coached by Engr. Leah Talusig, the UB-IECEP student chapter’s adviser.

This competition materialized as a response to the evolving needs of the education sector. Recognizing that traditional learning methods are not enough to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century, educators and organizers conceived this competition as a space for students to travel beyond what is seen in textbooks.

SEAlympics 2025: UB Engineering & Architecture Students Unite in Fun and Sportsmanship

The SEAlympics 2025 at the University of Baguio brought together over 2,200 students and faculty members in a day filled with sports, traditional games, and camaraderie. Held at the Centennial Building’s 2nd Basement, the event aimed to promote teamwork and student engagement beyond academics. Participants enjoyed various activities, from Larong Pinoy games like Chinese Garter and Tic Tac Toe x Flip the Bottle to competitive basketball and volleyball matches.
