Already anchored as one of the most powerful contenders in the 2024 Intramurals, the School of Engineering and Architecture demonstrated remarkable proficiency both in old and new school sports like e-sports. As the first half of the intramurals goes by, the SEA athletes have already imparted their greatness, top-notching and moving up the excellence marks in different events. They have proved that their success screams volumes about hard work, dedication, and commitment toward great success.

School of Engineering and Architecture team performance

SEA performed excellently in table tennis, held on 10 November 2024.  The Women’s Table Tennis team demonstrated skills and perseverance throughout the tournament; the team got 3rd runner-up. The Men’s Table Tennis Team showed great competition at all times and proved themselves to be the 1st Runner-up in the results of the competition. Their full-fledged battle for the championship proved that the team was competitive but also rich in technical skills.

Badminton has equally proven to be a significant territory for SEA, as both sides showed their skills. The women’s badminton team took the champion title on November 10, 2024, overpowering the opponent with perfect flexibility and accuracy. Their win was proof of their training and concentration. The men’s badminton team lost their place as the top leader but fought hard to become the 1st runner-up, placing themselves in the best possible ranking of the tournament.

Basketball, traditionally a favorite at the intramurals, was another area where SEA shined. The women’s basketball team won the championship title on November 13, 2024, following a series of excellent performances. Their teamwork with individual brilliance was a force to be reckoned with on the court. On the other side, the men’s basketball team also took home the championship title, winning their rivalries in a fiery final on November 20, 2024. The two basketball teams really showed off their amazing athleticism coupled with composure and a stiff yearning for victory.

One of the most notable wins by the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) in this year’s intramurals was on the e-sports field. On November 21, 2024, the SEA Mobile Legends team won in the tournament for competitive gaming, becoming the Champion for Mobile Legends Intramurals 2024. Part of their journey to being champions was their strategic gameplay, effective communication, and coordination, which helped the team outplay their opponents, making their victory a huge milestone in digital sports.

With the commitment and excellence thus far, there is no doubt that the School of Engineering and Architecture will continue to be a benchmark in terms of standards set up for excellence both in athletics and sportsmanship at the University of Baguio. The achievement of these students not only boosts the reputation of their department but is also a source of inspiration for other students to strive for greatness. While the 2024 University of Baguio intramurals are still ongoing, people have already noticed SEA from its outstanding performances.
