Baguio City, Philippines – The University of Baguio’s School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) successfully held its much-anticipated SEAlympics 2025 on February 26, 2025, at the UB Gym. The event gathered over 2,200 students and faculty members in a day filled with friendly competition, team spirit, and community-building activities.
SEAlympics 2025:Fostering Teamwork and Excellence
The SEAlympics, a non-academic event, was organized by the SEA Student Body to provide students with a well-deserved break after their first grading examinations. Beyond recreation, the event aimed to strengthen camaraderie, encourage collaboration, and showcase the diverse skills of students in various sports and traditional Filipino games. According to Dr. Jeferd E. Saong, Dean of SEA, the event served as a platform for students to engage in fun, physical activities while also reinforcing the UBian culture of excellence and teamwork.
The event featured a mix of modern and traditional games, including:

- Larong Pinoy: Students and faculty members enjoyed games such as Chinese Garter, Tic Tac Toe x Flip the Bottle, and Dodgeball, promoting teamwork and strategic thinking.
- Basketball & Volleyball: Different programs competed in these sports, demonstrating skill, coordination, and sportsmanship.
Additionally, faculty members actively participated by joining the games and cheering for students, fostering a stronger connection between educators and learners.
With an impressive turnout and positive reception, the SEAlympics is set to become a staple event for SEA students in the coming years. Organizers are already considering longer event durations, earlier promotions, and additional activities to make future SEAlympics even more inclusive and enjoyable. As students left the event with smiles on their faces, one thing was clear—the SEAlympics 2025 not only brought out the competitive spirit in everyone but also reinforced the sense of belonging and community within the School of Engineering and Architecture.
