UB Arki Goes International

UB SEA and Amikom University Faculty members and students during the opening ceremonies of the Short Course Collaboration of the Faculty and Students Exchange Program between the University of Baguio and Amikom University last May 2024, the Philippine Leg.

After the successful Indonesian leg of the BS Architecture Short Course Collaboration as a part of the Faculty and Student Exchange Program between the University of Baguio and Amikom University last May 2024, the Philippine leg soon ensued.  This program aimed to strengthen international ties with fellow ASEAN Higher Education Institutions.  At the same time, this program fosters the improvement of the quality of education within both  Universities through benchmarking of best practices. 

Last October 7-18, 2024, ten students accompanied by three faculty members from the Architecture, Urban Geography and Urban Planning Program of Amikom University visited the University of Baguio.  This activity aimed to strengthen the relationship and promote collaboration between the partner schools further.  The Short Course Collaboration further emphasized on imparting Philippine Architecture and Planning Practices through curated lectures and activities that build camaraderie and cooperation among the participants.

The fourteen-day program kicked off with 2 enriching plenary sessions.  Various master classes on different specialization topics were  facilitated by faculty members from both Universities.  A guided tour of the city was also conducted.  The program ended with a research-based architectural design competition on the redevelopment and revitalization of the Aguinaldo Park at Happy Glen Loop, Baguio City.  This concluding ceremony emphasized camaraderie, cooperation, and building networks among the members of the partner schools resulting in the best ideas and design solutions.

This partnership supports the University in its pursuit of providing balanced quality education through strengthened international collaboration.
